About the The Residence Programme (TRP)
The Residence Programme is the EU-equivalent of the Global Residence Programme: it grants a flat 15% tax rate on remitted foreign-source income to EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals who hold qualifying property in Malta. Like the GRP, it carries a minimum annual tax of EUR 15,000.
Eligibility
Open to EU, EEA, and Swiss nationals not benefitting from any other Maltese tax programme.
Programme rules and thresholds change from time to time. Always verify the current published criteria with Identity Malta or Residency Malta before making an investment decision.
Property thresholds
Property investment unlocks the The Residence Programme (TRP). Either a one-time qualifying purchase or a multi-year qualifying rental works; many applicants combine the property route with the government contribution requirement.

Live Darscover listings that meet each route's property requirement today, counted the way our property search counts them. Each count opens that search.
Every figure here is read from the official source shown beside it, on the date shown. Where an official source does not settle a point, the route is left out for the people it concerns and this page says why.
