Find your residency route

Five questions. You see the routes that match your answers first, each with its official rules and the homes that qualify; nothing is shared with anyone unless you later ask for an introduction.

Are you a citizen of an EU or EEA country, or of Switzerland?
Will you buy or rent your home in Malta?
Who is moving?

Until you ask for an introduction, we record only which options are chosen, not who chose them.

  • Malta Retirement Programme: not shown to citizens of countries outside the EU, the EEA and Switzerland. Its Rules make anyone who is not Maltese eligible (rule 4(c)) but end the status if the holder becomes a third-country national (rule 6(1)(b)), and the tax authority's own guidance could not be read to settle it. A registered mandatary can tell you.
