About Floriana

Floriana is the fortified suburb that sits in front of Valletta's land walls, designed in the 17th century by Pietro Paolo Floriani as the capital's outer line of defence. It is small, formal, and architecturally distinct, with broad Baroque squares (St Publius, Floriana Granaries) and stately townhouses built into the bastion line.
