# auth.md

You are an agent. This file exists at `https://darscover.com/auth.md` so
automated systems know how authentication works on Darscover and what they
can use safely today.

## What needs no authentication

Almost everything an agent would want is public and requires no account,
key, or token:

- **Listings and guides**: all search pages, listing pages, area guides,
  comparisons, and Q&A pages on https://darscover.com are publicly readable.
- **Market data API**: the endpoints under
  `https://api.darscover.com/api/market-report/` (rent-index, price-index,
  aggregates, rental-yields, platform-stats) are public, read-only, and
  unauthenticated. See `https://darscover.com/.well-known/api-catalog` for
  the catalog.
- **MCP server**: `POST https://api.darscover.com/api/mcp` (Model Context
  Protocol, read-only, no auth) exposes the same market data as tools:
  get_market_aggregates, list_rent_index_quarters, get_rent_index,
  get_rental_yields.
- **AI-oriented summaries**: `https://darscover.com/llms.txt` and
  `https://darscover.com/llms-full.txt`.

Prefer these endpoints over scraping HTML.

## Account authentication

Darscover accounts (favourites, saved searches, listing management for
agencies and owners) sign in with email/password or Google/Apple/Facebook
at https://darscover.com. There is currently:

- **No OAuth authorization server** (`/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server`
  is not served).
- **No agent-auth or auth.md registration support** (no Protected Resource
  Metadata, no ID-JAG / `identity_assertion` flow).
- **No API keys for third parties.**

Do not attempt automated sign-in, credential replay, or account creation on
behalf of a user. If a task requires an authenticated action (saving a
favourite, contacting an agency as a user, managing a listing), hand the
user the relevant URL and let them complete it in their own browser session.

When agent authentication support launches, this file will link to the
authoritative discovery metadata.

- Market data reuse is free for editorial and research use with attribution
  to "Darscover Malta Rent Index" and a link.
